Prince Stavin Zel’Andral. Of all the things Stavin had dreamed he might become, this was by far the wildest. He was now second in line to the crown of Evandia. It seemed that he had achieved everything he wanted. But it only seemed that way to others.
Now Chosen, he is Prince Stavin, Warmaster Zel’Andral. While the fate of Farindia remains an open question, Kel’Kavin is now Evandian territory.
Stavin takes his family to Twin Bridges to introduce them to King Kalin, and finds new challenges. Not everyone is happy with his new status.
Stavin leads the Farindian Pacification Force into the new Evandian territories. Wielding the Sword of Zel’Hallan, he finds himself respected — and feared.
Sharindis is drawn into the King’s Council. Though unable to see the Ministers clearly, she can hear them quite well. Her knowledge of Farindia lets her take an active, and often aggressive, role in the Council.
Stavin returns to Twin Bridges triumphant, and changed in ways he won’t understand for years to come.
Book Four in the Stavin Kel'Aniston DragonBlessed series.
Farindian Summer Stavin DragonBlessed Book 4 eBook Loren K Jones
This book continues the summer after the last one. While there is less trading and wheeling and dealing, the characters are still there kicking butt.Stavin had moved from being a simple caravan guard to now being a member of the royal family, and he learns more of what that means as he marches to Farindia. There is less intrigue in this novel, but it is still very enjoyable with several fight scenes and the usual whiny nobles getting kicked down into their place.
The author does an excellent job of writing about the cities, but I still wish there was a bit more imagery, he has brought this world to life and I find it a fascinating one where I can't wait to see what happens next. I still wish he had added more color to the world.

Farindian Summer Stavin DragonBlessed Book 4 eBook Loren K Jones Reviews
emotions demonstrated 3 ways snarling, sneering, and giggling; this has gotten old so it would be nice if the author finds a thesaurus; not a lot happens in this book; the main character has gotten so powerful, everyone bows down, terrified, and he says, "Don't be terrified" and everyone is happy; that sums it up
"Hopefully, the author will get a little more creative in the next book because this one misses the mark!" snarled this reviewer
This starts out as a story of a snot nose teenager who faces a dragon to impress a girl and becomes dragon blessed with golden armor. He thinks all his problems are solved, but instead he gets into more and more trouble because everyone wants what he has and he believes he is cursed. His people gives rank by combat kills, and soon he gets an impressive count but won't get his rank until he has five years under his belt. This is a very binge worthy read that is all but impossible to put down.
This is book four of the series. I found books one and three to be okay, and book two was outstanding; unfortunately this was the weakest book. Very little action, compared with the others, mostly palace intrigue, jockeying for power, that sort of thing. Sure there was some fighting, but it wasn’t like before - I will not be a spoiler. All in all, I was not impressed and I doubt if I’ll read the last book of the series.
This book is just okay. I have read all the books of the series, and this is my least favorite. Like most series where the Main Character (MC) gets promoted/elevated/stronger, the stories move from action to politics. This book had a lot less action, and for me what action there was, fell short of the previous books. This series seams to be heading too much towards politics for my liking.
I absolutely love this series, have re-read the first the books at least four times. This addition moves the story line along considerablly. This book finds Stavin with more self doubt and moping, that sort of introspection isn't my thing which is the only reason I dropped a star.
In this book what are the consequences of being overpowered and astonishingly successful? Will you still be interesting when you're not killing a bandit every five minutes? Turns out, success comes with its own challenges, and the characters the author has created over the past three books are interesting whether they are in combat every chapter or not.
After every book in this series, I thought sure there was no more story to tell, or if there was it could not be as interesting as it was in the previous books. Every time I have been wrong, and that's just as true with this book. This author has some serious writing chops.
If you have followed the series up till now, feel confident in continuing to follow it. If you have run across this book in your recommendations list, feel confident in starting and outstanding yet unassuming fantasy series.
Arrgh. This one is a miss. Not a swing and a miss, but almost a clean "caught looking" called strike.
There were two things that broke me out of my immersion.
First, Stavin when from being a nice guy with a great suit of armor into something much different. Part of this is a continuation of book 3s plot, but it still was character growth in a very negative direction. (something I noticed a couple of reviews complained about.)
Second, Loren's world building is erratic and it really shows here. He doesn't appear to have much understanding about the technology level he's built into his worth or how that would affect armies, size of armies, speed of marching, etc. It's little in many ways, but for some reason it started to really upset me when reading this book. I think because the "campaign" in Farindia ended up being far harder than it needed to be due to the way Loren wrote it, rather than feeling like it should have been that hard naturally.
I like the characters, and the world overall. I just wish Loren hadn't tried to write a story of moving armies around. It didn't play to his strengths as a writer, and it showed.
